My Family

October 8, 2013

My family is small, just my two daughters and me.

Jean is 22, and she is a young, underpaid and overworked government employee. She is pursuing her Master’s at this country;s finest university, in the hope that one day, she can make wonders for the tourism and environment of this nation.

Tish is 21, and she is a sophomore at this country’s finest medical school, as far as facilities are concerned, She hopes to heal the sick one day, and give encouragement in whatever capacity she has as a doctor.

I am their mother posing as their domestic help, driver, and all around errand girl.

We live in a split level house that gives a view of the city lights by night.

I  feed the fish and the dogs, tend the farden, and facebook! I like keeping in touch with friends and netizens, it seems good for the soul.

And yes, I also keep online with the Almighty as much as I can.

Christmas Day 2014 – I gave away my koi, the El Nino affected the pond dwellers. I have another four-legged paw.  My yard looks better but my house needs repainting. Jean is no longer an underpaid government employee and has an ardent admirer who chooses not to speak with me yet. Tish is forever singing. I think somebody admires her, too.

2015 was a sad year for me. My Mommy has gone back to Heaven. I should be happy, but sigh, I miss her so.

Jean has been with the UN for many months now. She works late into the nights for her comprehensive reports. I mean, till the wee hours of the mornings. She has also finished with all the required MA units, so yes, pressure is on for her thesis. And to top that, she is establishing a company with two friends. Geez.

Tish is on the penultimate leg  of her clerkship. On to internship soon, with a white coat. And then the medical boards.

I don’t cook as much anymore. there is a street down our village that has boomed as an eating hub. The reason for excessive pounds that accumulated in all the bulging spaces in my small form. Uggggh, really.
