My name is Eileen Leyva.  I am a Catholic, a Filipino, and a mother to two wonderful girls called Jean, 22, and Tish, 21.

My world revolves around my daughters and I’m happy with that.  I bring Jean to the shuttle depot every morning, and Tish to the medical college every day, we hear mass on Sundays, do the marketing together as much as we can, and watch films whenever we can.

Jean loves superhero/adventure movies  like The Avengers or Lord of the Rings, Tish adores romances and musicals such as Pride and Prejudice and Sound of Music, and I go gripping for high action as in Bourne, Die Hard and Air Force 1. Currently though, we sing the whole score of Les Miserables, and my favorite? Enjolras and Gavroche, ha ha.

Times have changed, and Jean has become deeply immersed with her job @ CITEM.  Tish is totally  engrossed with her books, she’s a full scholar at St. Luke’s College of Medicine in QC.  I am left to my lonesome self, keeping house, tending my garden, writing, walking, and praying for the people I love.  Melancholic, yes, but I do look forward each day for the marvelous blessings God has in store for me.

I used to cook carbonara or spaghetti on special occasions, but those occasions have become rare. I concoct fish and vegetable viands for our daily meals, or we  eat out whenever we crave for sumptuous food.  Fried or barbecued chicken suits the palate most of the time, or pasta. But of late, we are turning vegans.

My daughters and I dwell in a split-level house which, by night, gives a view of the city lights.  Patriotism is in the heart much so that I tell my daughters to have a grand look of the world outside but always come home to the land God has given.

I have a gregarious mother.  She lives in California, with my siblings.  I miss them so.

I pray as much as I can for there is nothing much more important than being online with the Almighty.
